Simple weapon, range, Rare, Versatile Range: 5/30 ft

You must have a 20 strength to lift this weapon. If your strength is below 20, you are encumbered. If your strength is below 16, you are heavily encumbered.

This boomerang shaped like a horseshoe was crafted by a legendary smith of the Ekwos tribe.

When used as a melee weapon to attack enemies within 5 feet, it does -5 to hit, but has an improved critical (19 or 20 is a critical hit). It does 1d8 bludgeoning damage on a hit. On a natural 1, you take 1d4 damage due to the strain of wielding the weapon.

When used as a ranged weapon, it has a range of 5/30 feet. On a hit, the horseshoomerang does 1d4 bludgeoning damage.

Roll a d20.

  • 1: you lose control of the throw and the horseshoomerang scatters in a direction past your throw. If you hit, the damage still occurs.
  • 2-10: the horseshoomerang returns to you
  • 11-15: If you hit the opponent, the horseshoomerang hits the opponent on the return swing. Do an additional 1d4 bludgeoning damage. If you missed, the horseshoomerang returns to you.
  • 16-19: If you hit the opponent, the horseshoomerang hits the opponent on the return swing and knocks them prone. Do an additional 1d4 bludgeoning damage. If you missed, the horseshoomerang returns to you.
  • 20: If you hit the opponent, the horseshoomerang lands directly on the opponent, rendering them restrained. Do an additional 2d4 force damage. If you missed, the horsehoomeraang returns to you.
